Rediscovering Life Uninterrupted: Christine’s Journey with Tinnitus

Christine is one of many Canadians who struggle with tinnitus, but she had the courage to step up and do something about it. Like many, she was unexpectedly introduced to tinnitus at a young age, which significantly impacted her day-to-day life.

Christine’s First Encounter with Tinnitus 

Christine was only 19 years old when she began experiencing the persistent ringing in her ears. An evaluation by an ENT doctor revealed that she had otosclerosis, a condition that further led to hearing loss.  

For Christine, the diagnosis felt overwhelming. “I was heartbroken,” she recalls.  

The idea of wearing a hearing aid brought her additional worries about appearance and costs, a common concern for many in her situation.
