Upper Stewiacke
Founded in 1783 by Matthew Johnson, son of James Johnson, a grantee of Truro, supplies for establishing Upper Stewiacke, NS, were brought from Truro over 20 miles of virgin wilderness. Early settlers who followed in Johnson’s footsteps were engaged in farming or cutting lumber, and/or the milling associated with either enterprise.
Farming and forestry continue to be the primary occupations of the residents of Upper Stewiacke, but thanks to the abundance of lakes and rivers and the rich natural geography of our community, hikers, snowshoers, fishermen, and hunters are also attracted to our area.
Our team of professionals understands that losing your hearing can have a significant impact on your ability to interact with others and how much you enjoy your daily activities. The Provincial Hearing family has made it possible for individuals and families in Upper Stewiacke and nearby communities to find the personalized hearing care solution that suits their specific needs and lifestyle in our Truro clinic.
