Trafalgar
The rural community of Trafalgar, NS, was named for the famous English naval battle, but when pronounced by a Nova Scotian, the emphasis is on the last syllable. The most infamous event in the history of our community was the Porcupine Lake-Trafalgar Forest Fire, which consumed some 32,000 acres of forest in 1976.
Fortunately, Trafalgar recovered from the fire, establishing the Liscomb Sanctuary and an associated forest fire-fighting station. Thanks to Governor’s Lake, the Loon Lakes to the west, and Porcupine Lake to the north, residents and visitors to our community have plenty of opportunities to interact with nature in various outdoor recreation activities.
Our team of professionals understands that losing your hearing can have a significant impact on your ability to interact with others and how much you enjoy your daily activities.
