Seaform
Two distinct stories are given for the naming of Seafoam, NS, one arguing that it was the name of a schooner that wrecked here and the other that the name describes the state of the shore during a storm. Like many towns along the coast of Nova Scotia, forestry, farming, and fishing were the primary occupations of settlers to the area.
Seafoam once had two lobster canneries, in MacDonald’s Cove and Ballie’s Cove, neither of which are in operation today. Many of the events and facilities in our community are shared with Melville and Toney River.
