Pinhurst
Located along the LaHave River between New Germany and Wentzells Lake, Pinehurst, NS, is a stopping place on Trunk 10 between Bridgewater and Middleton. First established around the lumber industry, farming began to take over the main activities of Pinehurst life by the early part of the 20th century.
Today, Pinehurst harvests and exports a different kind of tree as part of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Growers' Association. The community’s rural roots continue to be passed on from one generation to another through 4-H, while Pinehurst also attracts visitors to the area thanks to some of the best salmon fishing in Lunenburg County as well as highwater canoeing and kayaking adventures on the LaHave River.
