North Kingston
North Kingston, NS, grew out of the land grant of Bishop Inglis that led to the development of Kingston. Mostly a farming community in the early 1800s, the arrival of the Halifax-Yarmouth main line of the Dominion Atlantic Railway in 1868 and the establishment of Kingston Station greatly enhanced regional growth and the growth of North Kingston.
Located at the foot of North Mountain, along Highway 221, North Kingston is a quiet agricultural community that produces Black Taunton cider apples for which the region is famous. Paragon Golf and Country Club, Stronach Park, Valley Racing, hiking, and camping are additional area attractions.
