Established along the North Branch of the LaHave River, Newburne, NS, like so many of the communities in southern Nova Scotia, was established in the mid-1800s around the timber industry. Equipment, labour, and trades associated with cutting timber and lumber milling were the primary occupational activities of Newburne in its early days and well into the 20th century.
