Hebbville
Until about one hundred years ago, Hebbville, NS, was known as Hebb’s Mills because of the Hebb family’s three mills, powered by the water flowing out of Hebb Lake into Fancy Lake. Throughout its history, farming and milling were the mainstays of the economy of Hebbville, which remained primarily a rural community until its incorporation in 1978.
Farming is still a major part of the economy of Hebbville, but our community is also known as the home of Bridgewater’s “auto row,” with several automobile dealerships along Highway 3. Residential growth has been rapidly increasing as Bridgewater’s housing demand continues to grow, leading to numerous subdivisions and various types of housing.
