Cookville
Located about four kilometres north of Bridgewater, Cookville, NS, is a rural residential community within the Lunenburg Municipal District in Lunenburg County. In its early days, our community was an integral part of industries that were developed using water power from the river, including lumber manufacturing, a carding mill, a foundry, a gristmill, and a tannery.
The most notable feature of Cookville is Cookville Provincial Park, located on the east bank of the LaHave River outside of Bridgewater. Cookville participates in activities like community gardening, Christmas on the LaHave, the Bridgewater Farmers’ Market, Harvest Moon Music Festival, and more.
