Charleston, NS, was established as a lumbering community in the 18th century. Lumber from our community was transported to Mill Village along the Medway River, where it was milled and then shipped to Europe and the Caribbean.
Today, Charleston is a sleepy residential town in the Region of Queens Municipality whose primary features include the Medway River and the DEVI International Boarding School.
