Back in 1970, our clinic opened its doors for the first time with a mission: to provide quality, professional hearing care to everyone who visited us, from their first hearing assessment to their latest maintenance checkup.

Today, in 2024, we’re so proud to be celebrating 54 years of expertise within our community as the oldest independently run hearing care clinic in Nova Scotia.

I have been in the hearing care industry for 33 years this year myself – leading the Provincial Hearing staff from success to success has been such a privilege.

We’re so excited to share some of the new and improved technology with you to celebrate our anniversary this year. Thank you to all our amazing patients and our tight-knit community for helping us reach this milestone.

Here’s to many more years of excellent hearing healthcare!

The Gift of Better Hearing

We’re proud to have served the people of Nova Scotia for over 50 years. My team and I have seen firsthand just how isolating it can be when suffering with the challenges that a hearing loss can bring.

That’s why, to give back to our community this year, we’re launching the Gift of Better Hearing giveaway, where a lucky winner will receive a complimentary hearing assessment and prescription hearing aids.

The Gift of Better Hearing is just one of many ways that we are giving back to the communities across Nova Scotia. Helping people re-engage with situations and environments that they once feared is one of the main reasons why we do what we do, and equipping someone with complimentary hearing technology will help them do just that, for years to come.

Hearing loss is much more common than many people realize, so if you know someone suffering with a hearing challenge, make sure to put them forward for this life-changing opportunity.

Visit our website to nominate someone for the Gift of Better Hearing all through June. On June 30, nominations will close, and my team and I will pick a winner.

Good luck and thank you in advance for joining in!

Annette Cross, BC-HIS CEO and President of Provincial Hearing

Annette grew up in a farming family and was familiar with hearing loss because it was in her family. Finding hearing care very interesting, and after gaining more than 10 years of management experience, she started working in the industry in 1992 as a secretary. Her passion and dedication to help enhance lives through better hearing has only grown more since those days. In 1997, Annette had the opportunity to purchase Provincial Hearing from owner Don Allen. Since then, she has grown the business to three locations — Bridgewater, Truro, and Kentville. Provincial Hearing is proud to be one of the oldest locally/family-owned clinics in Nova Scotia, and Annette contributes the clinics’ success to her team’s provision of honest, personalized patient care and their desire to always stay on top of the latest advancements in the hearing industry.
