Each year we make sure to get our teeth cleaned, get our eyes checked, and get a physical, but when was your last hearing test?

Healthy hearing is not only essential to strong communication and listening to your loved ones; your hearing impacts your balance, memory, and risk of harmful health conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s.

If you’re looking for ways to improve your hearing as we continue forward into 2025, you’re in the right place. Personalized hearing care can help you recognize the difference in your hearing health with support from hearing health experts who only win when you win.

1. Comprehensive Hearing Tests

Your journey to strong hearing health begins with a comprehensive hearing assessment, where your hearing care specialist will assess your current range of hearing and see what you need to do to enhance it.

A hearing test is painless and stress-free, and it will provide you with comprehensive results regarding your hearing health, including recommendations for treatment methods and how you can optimize your hearing with further care from our team.

We start with a quick chat about you, including your medical history, hearing struggles, lifestyle choices, and more to gain a better understanding about you as a person, not just our patient, and begin to formulate your hearing care journey with you at the centre.

After a check inside your ears to make sure earwax impaction didn’t cause your hearing loss (and if it did, we can remove the impaction for you!), we move into the testing part, which will be the longest part but provide immediate results regarding your hearing health.

Your results will be available on the same day, and we can go through your next steps together with guided advice from our team of experts.

2. Tinnitus Treatment and Management

Dealing with an incessant ringing, buzzing, whooshing, or fluttering in your ears? Tinnitus might be to blame.

Our team can quickly and effectively help you manage your tinnitus with the help of a tinnitus screening, which will test your hearing and look for signs of tinnitus.

With the help of our array of tinnitus management techniques, from hearing aids to sound therapies and more, you can get back to hearing your busy life without the interruption of tinnitus in your ears.

3. Earwax Removal

Earwax is an entirely harmless substance that our ears produce to keep our delicate inner ears clean and safe from intrusions or damage from dead skin, insects, or other obstructions. However, sometimes there can be too much of a good thing, and earwax can get impacted in our ears.

Before you reach for a cotton swab, which can push earwax farther into your ear and cause further issues, visit us for a professional ear cleaning

Earwax impaction can lead to issues with hearing, balance, and earaches – but a professional cleaning appointment can quickly and safely remove earwax impaction and make sure you get back to clear and clean hearing.

4. Advanced Hearing Aid Technology

If your hearing test shows that hearing aids could provide ample benefits to your hearing health, we can walk you through the best options for your specific requirements, including your budget, lifestyle choices, and technical dexterity.

Modern hearing aid technology offers advanced features with the wearer’s comfort and enjoyment at front of mind, including Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone compatibility, and more modern designs so that unless someone knows you’re wearing them, your hearing aids are practically invisible.

Your hearing care expert will recommend several options for your best interest and best hearing health outcomes, so you can rest easy knowing that your hearing health will be boosted with professional care.

Hearing Health Journey

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?

Annette Cross, BC-HIS CEO and President of Provincial Hearing

Annette grew up in a farming family and was familiar with hearing loss because it was in her family. Finding hearing care very interesting, and after gaining more than 10 years of management experience, she started working in the industry in 1992 as a secretary. Her passion and dedication to help enhance lives through better hearing has only grown more since those days. In 1997, Annette had the opportunity to purchase Provincial Hearing from owner Don Allen. Since then, she has grown the business to three locations — Bridgewater, Truro, and Kentville. Provincial Hearing is proud to be one of the oldest locally/family-owned clinics in Nova Scotia, and Annette contributes the clinics’ success to her team’s provision of honest, personalized patient care and their desire to always stay on top of the latest advancements in the hearing industry.
