Siemens Hearing Aids

A manufacturer of telegraphic instruments in the late 1800s, Werner von Siemens became a pioneer in the development of hearing aids when he developed an amplified telephone receiver in 1877. Keeping his innovations alive, the Siemens company manufactured their first BTE (behind-the-ear) hearing aid in 1959 and then the first (ITE) in-the-ear hearing aid in 1966.

Siemens became Sivantos in 2015 and used their technology to produce Signia hearing aids while continuing to manufacture their own Siemens brand hearing aids. After the Sivantos Group merged with Widex to create WS Audiology in 2019, Siemens became a part of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturing group.

Sound Processing by Siemens

The Binax platform upon which Siemens hearing aids are built makes it possible to simulate binaural hearing by using an eight microphone network (four per hearing aid) and e2e wireless technology to share and balance incoming sound between the two hearing aids.

Objective testing of Binax technology at the University of Northern Colorado and the Hearing Center of the University of Oldenburg, demonstrated that those with Binax hearing aids had an advantage over those with normal hearing in a noisy environment.

Along with the Binax technology, Siemens hearing aids also feature Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural and High Definition Sound Resolution to help enhance your hearing aid experience.
